Privacy notice
This notice covers the public website at joinaroom.app, including the early-access list. It does not cover the Room application itself.
What we collect
If you join the early-access list: your email address, the date and time you joined, and which version of the consent wording you agreed to. That is all. We don’t ask for your name, and we don’t store your IP address with your signup.
To prevent abuse: we keep a short-lived counter of signup attempts per connection. The connection’s IP address is converted into a one-way keyed hash before it is stored, and counters are deleted after about a day.
Diagnostics: if a page fails to load or an error occurs in your browser, the site may send a short technical report: the kind of problem, a short code from a fixed list (such as the type of error or which kind of file failed to load) and which page of this site it happened on. Reports never include error messages, web addresses, or anything you typed, and they aren’t linked to your email address.
Why
We use your email address only to contact you about Room early access, which is what you agree to when you join the list. We don’t sell it, share it for marketing, or add you to unrelated newsletters.
Where it is stored and who processes it

Cookies and storage
The website itself sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss.
- Session storage (strictly necessary): while you type your email on the early-access page, it is kept in your browser’s session storage so an accidental reload doesn’t lose it. It is removed when you join, and the browser discards it when you close the tab. It is never sent anywhere until you submit.
- Cloudflare Turnstile (strictly necessary, early-access page only): runs a security check to tell people from bots. Cloudflare states that Turnstile does not use information for ad targeting. It loads only on the early-access page.
If we ever add optional analytics or other non-essential technologies, we will ask for your consent first and give you a way to change your choice at any time from this page.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you ask us to remove it, or until early access ends and the list is no longer needed, whichever comes first.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete your entry, or to stop hearing from us, email hello@joinaroom.app from the address you signed up with. We’ll act on it and confirm.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights over your personal data, including complaining to a data protection authority.
